baby turn around and let me see that sexy body go bump bump bump

why am i working. boo to this, lol. anyway my manager Megan told me i get $7.25 / hour. i never had a job that pays hourly before so i don't know if that is good or not. so here is how i ended up from: playing ff7 22 hours a day, to working 39 hours a week:

interview: i was invited to go to my interview at 5pm, so i crashed at alice apt and watched csi with her before i went. anyway the hiring manager Megan asked the basic questions and then special ones like "what does customer service mean to you" and "if you saw your co-worker stealing stuff what would you do" and "what does Gap mean to you". you know those questions that investigate your motive behind working here. i couldn't tell her the truth, which was "i wanted to do something during break and all my friends work here". She finally stopped asking questions and she said "ok i think we can take you on, when do you want to start". i was like, whoa, already? she assigned me my schedule that you can find if you just scroll down the window a bit.

day 1: Brandon showed me around the store, the names of the different sections, how to read tags, how to do price checks, merchandise locations, how to answer the phone, etc. Steven then showed me how to work the fitting rooms, how to fold clothes, and how to run go backs. so after learning all that it was time to hit the floor! aaaa! i went around helping customers find stuff, take them to fitting rooms, return their merchandise. Eeesh. the hardest part about the job is go-backs, and trying to find where each piece of merchandise goes on the floor. if you go into the fitting room area and return clothes, and if you don't know where each piece of clothing is yet, you can spend hours walking around the store trying to find where everything goes. everyone estimates that as F2 (i.e. the runner who brings the clothes back out) you can walk more than a mile a day! no wonder my legs hurt. the best part is that we get one hour breaks to eat, and we get two 15 minute breaks, which are GREAT times to rest your legs by sitting outside. you have no idea how great of an invention the CHAIR is until you realize how much you badly need one. But once you're back on the floor working, there is no time for rest. Always stand up and look busy, ahha. an 8 hour day takes a lot out of you.

day 2: there isn't much more difference, cause the main thing you do as a sales associate is help the customer with anything they need. if they want you to check stuff in the back, if they want you to help them find a size, or if they just want your opinion. it's just the walking, oof. i only worked 5 hours that day which was cool. one customer asked me if i could try on a coat for her, cause the guy she was getting it for was my size.

day 3: another 8 hour day. one customer asked me to look for medium sized womens tights. so i had to go in the back searching through files of women's socks and tights. eww. ahah j/k

more later. i have to work at 2 today.
