I have fallen asleep twice this weekend trying to study. and they're not naps, they're full out 3 hour snooze fests. but yeah this weekend has been pretty fun. let me back track to Del Mar Fair though because it was really fun two weeks ago.
San Diego County Fair (June 26)
Notice i keep calling it the Del Mar Fair, and i say that because they changed the name of it this year (or was it last year), and i like the traditional name. anyway our travelling squad of alice michelle frank candia kea and I drove up to Del Mar around 1130am, cause frank and i kept on playing Fatal Frame to scare the wits out of michelle.
when we got there, i was all excited cause we got on the parking shuttle and was like wow i'm really going to the fair for the first time in a long time, since i was a kid. and i finally have people to GO with!
the first place we went was to the ticket booth where me frank candi and kea all got wristbands for unlimited rides, and then the marathon begins. Zipper, the horrifying 360 degree ride that spins vertically and pushes you from every direction. Candi's favorite ride, Crazy Mouse, it looks so easy, but then all of a sudden it starts spinning as you go down the track and the turns are like harsh 90 degree pulls around the iron. There was this caterpillar type ride thing that we rode, where the parachute covers you as you spin backwards around the circle. but nothing takes the take from...
Tango. it raises you 100 ft in the air, and spins you and rotates you 1080 degrees for a very long time. your adrenaline is already spent when they're raising you in the air.
all the rides were fun. one by one each of us all got woozy, and michelle and alice had to take care of us by bringing us drinks and helping us sit down on benches. and they took tons of pictures of us (yes there will be a gallery, sometime or another haha). after the rides we went to go eat (i had a philly cheesesteak sandwich and a blooming onion) then went walking around the booths, looking at stuff. there was this turd at this free back analysis booth, and i asked him if the thing was really free and he said "but you have to be 18 though". before i could smack him in the nose alice and michelle dragged me away from him. and you KNOW he was scared when i stared him in the eyes, that skinny little brat.
anyway i bought this cool glue that's like super strong. my dad has me glue all of his antiques now. after shopping we went to see the animals, in particular the goats. and more goats. and even more goats. you hear "baaaaah" every 5 seconds, but it was fun. the camel was pretty cool too.
we then went to the botanical garden areas and took a lot of pictures there. lots of plants and fountains.
finally we went home around 9pm, tired beyond belief. but yeah, it was fun.
Summer School
After cutting through miles of red tape, i finally got into my two classes. so how are they?
ECON 100A - this thing was deceivingly easy and is now starting to get annoying. It's super-econ 1a, where you go back and revisit all your theories of supply demand taxes and such, except now you're doing things like calculating derivatives of the indifference curves. we'll see how the midterm goes, cause we have a ton of hoomework problems they gave us.
CSE 141 - yes it's as hard as you think. it's hardcore ECE 30, where the MIPS language is now being applied to do some crazy things. it's hard to describe, but trust me it's a lot of workin the summer cause it's a fast class.
Crib Crashers
I have huge gaps in between classes on monday and wednesday, so i spend them either @ alice's place or when she's at work i go play Onimusha 2 @ steph's place. anyway yeah, sooner or later i'm going to have to stop annoying them and actually study in the library. i tried that once already and damn, i couldn't last. i was knocked out for hours in S&E library and it hurts trying to sleep on a desk.
anyway i need like a place to couch it and just pass out for a few hours in between classes. anyone out there? anyone?
