ah, the holiday season. let's do some quick recaps and reflections (marked by the words "you know") shall we? well it's not like you have a choice, i mean i'm the one blogging. (unless you close the window, in which case you will hurt my feelings, u goober)
Mass was cool @ midnight because to my joy it didn't drag on. the speech was awesome because he mentioned that it's ok if you only go 2 days a year. that's what church is FOR, it's for those people who "need" a place to go twice a year.
Christmas day was cool, i got to open awesome presents. my mom & dad got me money for my Las Vegas trip in spring break, my sister got me the 50 cent CD and a pedometer and a Hines Ward jersey, my cousin stephanie got me an old navy sweater, and my grandma and auntie peenah gave me money, and my auntie elsie gave me shirts. alice got me Dynasty Warriors 4, dre got me the Debut, a basketball and a football, and arjel got me a calendar. thanks everyone, i hope you like the stuff i got you too.
-- you know, the spirit of the season really isn't "getting" stuff, it's more of seeing people enjoy the stuff you "gave" them. that's a very fulfilling feeling right there.
that evening we played PS2 all day, with my cousin Brian and i tearing it up through the three kingdoms of China in DW4, then at night me and my cousins Lilibeth and Lester played the final three terrifying levels of Silent Hill 3 (a haunted house and a possessed church o.o yeah right i'm playing that myself).
around 2am or so Brian was hungry, so we drove over to a Bank of America ATM in Bonita, and went to Jack in the Box which was luckily open 24 hours on Christmas night. that's the first time i've ever done anything that spontaneous; i felt all rebellious grabbing the car keys and driving around san diego in PJs in the fog @ night.
on Friday, while our parents went out shopping and gambling in Viejas, Brian and i went to Fashion Valley to go shopping @ old navy (hence the graphic above). we then went to the old navy @ Mission Valley west.
on Saturday, we went shopping @ Las Americas outlet stores, and yes we tore that place up. again we went to Old Navy for the THIRD TIME in two days, and i think we've taken advantage of every $10 pair of pants and $20 jackets that we could find. then we spent the rest of our cash @ Benzene, the store that sells nothing over $10. i got a pair of jeans and a shirt from there too. after buying a jersey @ the Nike outlet and a pair of skechers @ Just for Feet, we left the Mexican border and headed towards home with 10 bags of clothes.
-- you know, Outlet shopping is underrated. according to my sister, Outlets get the overstock that the regular mall stores don't order (like Old Navy made 500 painters jackets, but the 20 stores only ordered 20 each to sell, so the extra 100 goes to the outlets), and they're usually cheaper. and men are very efficient shoppers. my cousin and i never spent more than 10 minutes in a store because we knew exactly what we could buy and wanted to buy.
so yeah the holidays are over and it's time to enjoy the fruits of our labor. i'm going to use my new basketball @ the courts this week, and start organizing my papers in my room to get ready to own my second to last quarter at UCSD. come on new year's, just bring it.
