i have found the key to staying awake at work. COFFEE !!!

actually work has gotten busy (OMG) for me lately. i have to go record all the job site attendance sheets of the jobs (which should take maybe 2 days) and i have to work on the Carlsbad Unified School District binder (which is a day's work) and i have to go through each binder and update and reorganize them (which will take 3 days).

ok so yes i know my job as Project Manager Assistant *cough* isn't as exciting as it seems. but still, every time i see the clock roll around, i hear CHA CHING!!!!!! $10 an hour means i have to work for approximately 3 weeks to make up my Las Vegas trip.

i was talking with kea today and the difference between me working and my friends working is that, my money doesn't go towards rent or groceries or anything. i get to keep it and spend it on fun stuff. i find that a pretty sweet privilege that i'm grateful for. but don't go on thinking that i have it ALL that great. i have curfews, i have to tell my parents where i go each night, and other things that away-from-home people get to enjoy.

i'm also grateful to my ECE 111 TA, who held back his laughter has he tried to explain from step 1 what exactly the Verilog language is and what an always block did. i felt bad because i should already have learned the Verliog code, but i fell asleep through the second week of class.

oh yeah something i really wanted to talk about in this blog: the Job Fair.

you know when i go from booth to booth, from recruiter to recruiter, i get the same sinking feeling: i'm not as good as other candidates. my 2.84 upper division major GPA (2.75 overall) is nowhere near the 3.00 levels that many companies want. also, they want people who have had experience OUTSIDE schoolwork. like i want to be a VLSI designer. all i have to show for it is ONE course in VLSI. i spent 10 weeks studying it to get a C+ and i expect to get a job? maybe i have to go to Grad School at maybe San Diego State to improve my chances at becoming a VLSI engineer for Qualcomm or Raytheon or SAIC or SPAWAR (you hear that? i'm going to work for one of YOU four companies, i guarantee it)
