Futek Advanced Sensor Techonlogy
Final Interview Stage for the Electrical Engineering position:
1. Why, at Futek, do you think we should consider hiring you?
2. "what is your greatest weakness?"
3. "what is your greatest strength?"
4. "what is your career goal?"
5. "what would make you leave a company?"
6. "what is your greatest strength in engineering? (i.e. analog, digital, etc)
7. "what is you greatest engineering weakness?"
8. "Give us a background of your programming skills"
9. "are you familiar with visual basic?"
10. "here at Futek we pride ourselves on great teamwork. what are your thoughts on working on teams as opposed to working independently, and what do your prefer?"
11. "what types of personalities do you not work well with in a team environment?"
12. "Futek grows due to innovation and creative ideas from young engineers. That means many projects are made in the dark, and it's up to you to 'come up' with it. how are you at working with very open-ended assignments?"
the next part of the interview was my choice of any two staff members, and have 10 minutes to meet with them and talk about whatever i wanted.
Staff member #1: i picked the cutest girl (duh). she looked about 24 - 26ish, and i just asked her what happens if you don't know anything. she said it's ok and they'll teach you and hold your hand through the first few days of the job before you get your first assignment.
Staff member #2: i picked the big cheese of the IT/Design department and asked him how life was at the top. he said it was good, if his mind wasn't working that day, he'd take a break.
both of them told me that i'd love working for Futek. good job security and everyone is super friendly. only problem is that staff guy #2 told me that they can't afford to pay top dollar (like Qualcomm does).
the interview ended with a tour of their grand facilities, seeing the fabrication rooms, the machines, the inventory rooms, and the design areas.

So there you have it. after taking 3 interviews for them, my fate lies in the hands of the two Engineering guys who interviewed me today. I should find out if i'm moving to Irvine by Friday.
