you can bring your crew but we remain true

and you thought i was gone, haha. anyway this is the first time i'm blogging on someone else's computer. LIVE, from alice's laptop, it's FRIDAY AFTERNOON!!!. ok that didn't seem as exciting as i hoped, i guess you have to be on SNL to actually pull that off. anyway screw it, let's get onto a huge update:

-- spring break --

saturday: dre called me up and took chien and me back to On Cue Billiards over in La Mesa so he could once again knock us senseless on a field of green felt. dre took 7 games I took 2 and chien took 1, so at least I came in second. The best moment was when I told chien specifically not to scratch on this next shot, but he still couldn't avoid the corner pocket even if he wanted to. It took about half an hour before I finally won the rack. Afterward we went over to i think Edwards Cinema and watched "A View From the Top" only because chien was all like "no we gotta watch this it's a comedy with mike myers and gwenyth paltrow". I think dre put it best when he said "CHICK FLICK it's another Coyote Ugly". It's true but yeah i like almost all movies I watch. There are like a few I didn't like, such as The Musketeer....

sunday: for helping her with her CSE 12 assignments (even though in reality i don't think i did anything), Gina took me to watch "Bringin Down Da House" over at AMC La Jolla 12. It was a good movie, funny, and again there's that stigma i have of liking nearly every movie I watch. After that we went to Lucky Tofu House over on CONVOY! street to get some Korean BBQ. omg, that stuff is so freakin good. They give you the beef bulgogi in like this pan type thing and you get lettuce and kimchi and all this other stuff you get to eat it with. I really wish i was hungrier that day so I could have eaten everything. Gina had to point out all the rules for eating food, like how to put the stuff in the lettuce leaf and how to add the paste and other things. anyway after that I figured i could head up to Fry's to get some lan party equipment, but instead I just stopped by alice's apt for a bit then went on home.

monday: LAN party time! this was the day I got to get my revenge on dre and chien for pool and academics, respectively. i brought my laptop and a router with cables over to dre's house and the three of us lanned it up all ghetto style, sitting on the floors and having short cables. Anyway first game was Starcraft where after I knocked out dre's terran base, chien came in with his little tank business and took out my last expansions. Game 2 was Quake 3 Team Arena which was the best one because it was cooperative against the bots and we kept getting our asses beat in Capture the Flag before we got annoyed and began rushing their base and kicking their ass. Game 3 was Unreal Tournament which was a crock because Chien already knew how to kick all our asses in a free for all 3 man arena. Game 4 was a short lived Counterstrike game because we were all busy eating mexican food that dre treated us to @ super sergio's. Last Game 5 was a free for all with us and a computer, and that's when I busted out my massive hydralisk army and after beating all three of them down i sent in zerglings to finish up the rest.

tuesday: errand time. I washed my car for the first time in a month and vacuumed it inside out. I then went to go get a haircut and just played CS and PS2 when i got home. chill day.

wednesday: i took alice to the carlsbad flower fields, which was cool because not even I had been inside there before. I only looked at it from a distance while shopping at the outlet, but it's kinda cool once you're there. I thought they would be roses but actually they're ranunculus flowers, which apparently grow better, i don't know i didn't take the time to read the educational signs they had. after that we went shopping around the outlets, where i bought hella shirts and had to stop before i spent all my cash. on the way home we stopped by Solana Beach and watched the sunset, and that night we watched CSI episodes from the last 2 weeks on tape while we ate Thai food we got from Thai House on Convoy street. it was nice to finally have a day all to ourselves for the first time in a long time. i'm hoping she had fun...

thursday: another chill day. I packed all my clothes then played CS all day on my laptop and just took it easy until night.

friday: after unwillingly waking up at 3am it was time for our family to go up to San Jose! Oh yeah, NorCal here i come. going to the airport at 430am we checked in and waited for the 6am flight to San Jose International. I spent the time waiting reading Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger. It was a cool book when I read it in high school and i figure i can be like my friend bethany and read books for fun too.

arriving at SJ, we got a rental car (a 2003 maxima) and drove to my uncle boy's house in Sunnyvale. after that we went to my auntie nelia and uncle larry's house in San Jose and ate there (we ate Salmon cause it's friday) and ran some errands. We went to this cool supermarket on Ruby Avenue that's really new but i forgot the name of it already >_< all i know is that it's really nice and in between these new houses that were just built a few months ago and it looks like it's party of a universal studio's movie set.

after that we went to the rehearsal at the church, and since my uncle wasn't there i had to play the Father for the ceremony. I was also surprisingly assigned to be an Usher at the wedding where me and my cousin hold the doors open for my cousin to enter with her parents. after that my cousins and i went shopping in Eastridge mall, where i bought sunglasses and another long sleeve shirt, black this time. at the end of the night and after stopping by auntie nelia's house again, my mom dad sis and i went back to our room at the Wyndham Hotel near the San Jose airport. you know what? driving around San Jose is tricky, cause none of yall got any east-west freeways! 101 and 880 both go north and south!

saturday: wedding day. my familiy met up with our relatives and ate at Denny's for brunch. you know the best way to find out what your parents think of you? eat with your relatives. that's the time they decide to share stories and opinions about you with your uncles and aunties. but it's also a prime opportunity to share YOUR embarassing stories about THEM with your cousins. be like "oh you know the other day my mom did this...". it was like we were half eating and half gossiping with each other in the restaurant.

on the way to check out the reception hall, my mom wanted to buy some corn from these roadside vendors by the Beryessa Flea Market. good stuff i tell you. anyway we went back to the hotel to get dressed in all our fancy clothes and stuff, and then we made it to the church.

good ceremony. being the usher was fun because we were the last ones to get to see our bride cousin Laurie before we opened the doors, but it was also kinda nervous because everyone was looking @ us when we were holding onto the doors before swinging them open. oh well, yeah it was fun. the reception afterward was fun because setting up the reception hall my cousin Brian and I got to handle all the alcohol and put them at tables. no free samples though. anyway the reception was very good with nice speeches and lots of good food. i think my other cousin was drunk though haha.

sunday: waking up early yet again, we got to SJ international and flew down to LAX then transferred to San Diego. Oh yeah, finally back home in very sunny and very hot Lindbergh Field. we picked up some chinese food and boba on the way home and chilled the rest of the day. so that's the end of spring break.

------ spring quarter 2003 ------

ece 108: OMG WHAT??? this class is freakin hard. Coles gives you the most whack graphs ever.
ece 173: ok so kent was right this class is pretty interesting. although we still haven't learned much yet, i expect it to get really hard.
econ 1a: i can hang with this. stacy-san did it so i should be able too.
math 187: damn this class is pretty cool. it's all about encoding messages and deciphering them. although today it got really hard with matricies. oh well.

yeah so that's what i've been up to lately. i didn't even write nearly everything i wanted, but i'm really tired right now so haha. kcul8er.

----- random thought -------

does it bother anyone else when you sneeze while you're driving? i mean like, you're driving and you have to sneeze, but you can't move your hands or nothing because you're holding onto the steering wheel. so you just go ahead and sneeze all over the wheel and the inside of your windshield, and there's nothing else you can really do cause you're still trying to drive at 65mph on the freeway. it so sucks, and i do it often to so i'm like aaaaaaa not again. ok that's it.
